SMK-182 FRO Stainless Steel Cube Ice Maker

The SMK-182 FRO Stainless Steel Cube Ice Maker is a split-system square ice maker specifically engineered to meet high-demand ice requirements. Its core advantage lies in the split design—separating the "ice-making unit" from the "ice storage bin." The ice-making unit is discreetly housed in the back kitchen or equipment room, while the storage bin is positioned at the service counter or entrance area. This configuration effectively resolves the issues associated with traditional all-in-one units—specifically, the excessive space consumption and the risk of ice shortages during peak hours caused by housing both the ice-making mechanism and storage within a single cabinet. Equipped with a high-efficiency compressor and an air-cooled heat dissipation system, the unit boasts a daily ice production capacity of up to 200 kg. It features a large-capacity 120 kg storage bin, ensuring a continuous and ample supply of ice during peak periods—such as large gatherings, banquets, or busy buffet hours—thereby significantly enhancing operational efficiency and the customer experience.

  • Core Technologies and Design Highlights
The SMK-182 FRO incorporates a range of advanced technologies to ensure a dual guarantee of both ice-making efficiency and ice quality.
    1.  Split-System Structural Design: The ice-making unit (head unit) features a compact design (562 × 464 × 625 mm) and can be connected via piping to the ice storage bin (564 × 690 × 1030 mm), which can be positioned at any desired location. This design effectively isolates noise sources away from the bar or dining area, while simultaneously freeing up prime commercial floor space and enhancing the overall aesthetics and functionality of the venue.
    2.  High-Efficiency Refrigeration System: Equipped with a world-class compressor and utilising eco-friendly R290 refrigerant, the unit features an evaporator constructed from highly thermally conductive nickel-plated red copper. This ensures rapid freezing even at low temperatures (-7°C), producing ice that is exceptionally hard, crystal-clear, and slow-melting—thereby preserving the original flavour and quality of beverages.
    3.  Air-Cooled Heat Dissipation Technology: Compared to water-cooled units, the air-cooled system requires no external water supply connection, offering greater installation flexibility. It facilitates superior heat dissipation within the back kitchen or equipment room, while simultaneously reducing the risk of water-leakage failures and lowering maintenance costs.
    4.  Intelligent Fuzzy Logic Control: Utilising microcomputer-based fuzzy logic control technology, the system employs photoelectric sensors to monitor ice levels. It automatically shuts down when the storage bin is full and automatically resumes operation after ice has been dispensed. Furthermore, it features automatic fault detection and self-correction capabilities, ensuring safer operation and providing peace of mind for unattended use. 5. Hygienic and Safe Design: All components that come into contact with ice are constructed from stainless steel or food-grade materials. The unit features an automatic cleaning function that purges residual water, thereby preventing bacterial growth and ensuring the hygienic safety of the ice produced.
    Applicable Scenarios
The SMK-182 FRO’s high production capacity and large ice storage volume make it an ideal choice for a wide range of high-demand ice-consuming environments:
    1. Large-Scale Dining Establishments: For chain buffets, hot pot restaurants, barbecue joints, and similar venues where ice demand peaks during busy hours, the SMK-182 FRO’s spacious storage bin (120 kg) allows for the pre-stocking of ample ice. This prevents the embarrassing situation of "running out of ice" due to insufficient production capacity, thereby ensuring uninterrupted service.
    2. Star-Rated Hotels and Banquet Facilities: Hotel room service and banquet halls require a continuous supply of high-quality ice. The SMK-182 FRO’s split-system design allows the ice-making unit to be installed in a dedicated equipment room, leaving only the ice-dispensing outlet or bar area exposed. This approach not only conserves valuable floor space but also eliminates noise interference from the main unit.
    3. Nightlife Venues: Bars, KTV lounges, and nightclubs face high, concentrated demands for ice while also requiring strict control over ambient noise levels. The SMK-182 FRO allows the relatively noisy ice-making unit to be situated away from the main service areas, ensuring that the customer experience remains undisturbed.
    4. Professional Laboratory Settings: Medical facilities, research institutes, and chemical laboratories require a stable and reliable source of ice for applications such as sample preservation, physical cooling, or temperature control during chemical reactions. The SMK-182 FRO’s hygienic design and consistent performance meet the rigorous standards required by these specialised professional fields.
